We want peace and we don’t like wars

We want peace and we don’t like wars. From this principle, which sounds good, we can look around at the world see: who are the strong ones and who are the weak ones, who are those who strive for ever more power, position and money and who are those who are the victims of those policies?

Islam allows and enjoins the defence against oppression.

{Fighting/ warfare has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.} Sura 2-216

We are busy with our lies, our jobs, families and so on, but just imagine, if one people is hurting very much from war and injustice somewhere in the world, is it possible that it will affect our societies and ourselves? Is it possible, especially if the state who is inflicting considerable damage and killing on another part of people is at the same time in tight relationship with western countries, such as the United States, Canada, Europe including Sweden. When this country, Israel does not only have good relationships, but is also supported by the west from the start, getting a green light from the leaders of the west in whatever they do.

History has shown us for the ruling classes, or the elites, in order to rule the people, tend to find way to divide them, so that different factions are quarrelling against each other or worse, just what we have in Sweden right now.

When different groups in society fight each other instead of finding a common ground for the common good, they will forget about how to improve their society in a constructive manner, to find win-win solutions.

In terms of war, it is said truth is the first victim. So we have to aware that whatever comes from one side or the other, it is probably not the truth. There may be some truth in it, but it could be also all a lie. In the case of Israel and Palestine, we have to be extremely critical about what they are saying. (And also the other side.)

We have to think about how this state of Israel started at the outset in 1947, was it by a general election, or by an agreement among different groups of the population? No, of course not.

So I really wish that we in our societies, also in Sweden, can have a debate about what is happening in our country and internationally. We do live in one word and when injustice happens in one part of the word we are affected.

So for example, if the unequal development between Africa and Europe developed through centuries, and even after the independence of many African countries, the new-colonial relationship of the West with Africa, for example, has in many parts deteriorated living conditions for those people, so that young men and women risk their lives crossing the Mediterranean to reach Europe.

Would they not have preferred to stay in their countries if they had seen an opportunity? And why were they so desperate to leave their home countries? And the Syrians and the Afghans and the Palestinians, why do they turn to Europe to find a life? Which powers were involved in those wars which decimate and destroy their societies? They are our countries if the West. (this doesn’t mean that the leaders of those countries are without responsibility, and that there is no corruption. It’s just an example that we all are interconnected in this world.)

So what can we do? I think we can do a lot. If we can’t change a bad situation with our hand (outward action), then we can try to change it with our mouth or with our pen (communication), and if we can’t even do that, then we can see that our heart (inner health), at least our heart and mind is firmly on the side of the wounded, imprisoned, downtrodden, of the disadvantaged, of the poor and the hungry of this world.

Vad jag är säker på är att vi alla att vi vill ha fred och inte gillar krig. Med detta i åtanke kan vi se oss om runt i världen och kolla vad som händer just nu. Det är mycket hemskt som händer exv i Myanmar, Burma, och så sker i det massakrer i Israel, Gaza.

Naturligtvis är vi upptagna med våra liv, våra jobb, familjer och så vidare, men tänk bara, om ett folk lider väldigt mycket av krig och orättvisor någonstans i världen, är det möjligt att det kommer att påverka våra samhällen och oss själva? Är det möjligt, speciellt om staten som tillfogar en annan del av människor avsevärd skada och dödar samtidigt är i täta relationer med västländer, såsom USA, Kanada, Europa inklusive Sverige. När detta land har Israel inte bara goda relationer, utan stöds också av väst från början och får grönt ljus från ledarna i väst i vad de än gör.

Historien har visat att de härskande klasserna, eller eliten, för att styra folket, tenderar att hitta sätt att splittra dem, så att olika fraktioner bråkar mot varandra eller ännu värre, precis vad vi har i Sverige just nu.

När olika grupper i samhället kämpar mot varandra istället för att hitta en gemensam grund för det gemensamma bästa, kommer de att glömma hur man kan förbättra sitt samhälle på ett konstruktivt sätt, för att hitta lösningar som vinner på alla.

När det gäller krig sägs det att sanningen är det första offret. Så vi måste vara medvetna om att vad som än kommer från den ena eller andra sidan så är det förmodligen inte sanningen. Det kan finnas en viss sanning i det, men det kan också vara en lögn. När det gäller Israel och Palestina har jag följt detta problem i ganska många år, vi måste vara extremt kritiska till vad de säger. (Och även andra sidan.)

Vi måste tänka på hur denna stat Israel startade från början 1947, var det genom ett allmänt val, eller genom en överenskommelse mellan olika grupper av befolkningen? Nej, självklart inte.

Så jag önskar verkligen att vi i våra samhällen, även i Sverige, kan föra en debatt om vad som händer i vårt land och internationellt. Vi lever i ett ord och när orättvisa händer i en del av ordet påverkas vi.

Så till exempel, om den ojämlika utvecklingen mellan Afrika och Europa utvecklats genom århundraden, och även efter många afrikanska länders självständighet, har till exempel västvärldens nykoloniala relation med Afrika i många delar försämrat livsvillkoren för dessa människor. , så att unga män och kvinnor riskerar sina liv att korsa Medelhavet för att nå Europa.

Skulle ni inte ha föredragit att stanna i sina länder om de hade sett en möjlighet? Och varför var de så desperata att lämna sina hemländer? Och syrierna och afghanerna och palestinierna, varför vänder de sig till Europa för att hitta ett liv? Vilka makter var inblandade i de krig som decimerar och förstör deras samhällen? De är våra länder om väst. (Detta betyder inte att ledarna i dessa länder är utan ansvar och att det inte finns någon korruption. Det är bara ett exempel på att vi alla är sammanlänkade i den här världen.)

Så vad kan vi göra? Jag tror att vi kan göra mycket. Om vi inte kan ändra en dålig situation med vår hand (utåtriktad handling), då kan vi försöka ändra den med vår mun eller med vår penna (kommunikation), och om vi inte ens kan göra det, då kan vi se att vårt hjärta (den inre dimensionen), åtminstone vårt hjärta och sinne är fast på sidan av de sårade, fängslade, förtryckta, missgynnade, fattiga och hungriga i denna värld.
