Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, recalling his days as a guerrilla commander, said yesterday that Jews were justified in using terrorism to win statehood but that Palestinians are not.
”Personal terrorism is a way of fighting that is acceptable under certain conditions and by certain movements.” said Shamir.
The Jews, stateless and persecuted, had no choice, he said. But the Palestinians are ”fighting for land that is not theirs. This is the land of the people of Israel.”
Shamir was interviewed by army radio on the 50th anniversary of the founding of Lehi, the underground group in which Shamir fought British rule in Palestine in the 1940s.

The only crime I can think of that Israel hasn’t committed (yet) is using nuclear weapons (yes, they are the actual nuclear threat).
They’ve used terrorism, carried out assassinations including of scientists and journalists, bombed multiple sovereign states, occupy territory of multiple nations, targeted hospitals, schools, and civilian infrastructure, killed aid workers, journalists, and doctors, used starvation as a tool of war, targeted water and agriculture, blocked medicine and aid, imprisoned children, held Palestinians without charge (hostages), used rape and sexual violence, kidnap humanitarians in international waters, demolish homes in the West Bank, destroyed homes in Gaza, expel Palestinians from their homes in East Jerusalem, carry out apartheid, ethnic cleansing, pogroms and GENOCIDE against Palestinians…
But we’re told this is all self-defense and Israel is not a threat to global security or a nuclear threat because, actually, we’re told Israel doesn’t even have the nuclear arsenal everyone knows it has.
It is so shockingly insane if you just take one moment to really think about it.
